Motorola g54 review
have you seen what Motorola is doing? I mean, they are launching one impressive phone after another. Just 15 or 10 days ago, they released the Motorola G84, which was probably the best-looking premium phone under Rs. 20,000. The specifications were fantastic too. Now, they've taken it up a notch with the Motorola G54, probably the best smartphone under Rs. 15,000, and the effective price for the 8GB/128GB variant will be around Rs. 14,500. They've also added some new features that we've never seen in Motorola phones before. For example, a 6000mAh battery – that's incredible. So, shall we start our review, guys?"
1. Design
"When we talk about the design and build, it has a thickness of 8.89 mm and weighs 192 grams, which is a bit thick but the phone's weight is reasonable. The back is made of PMMA glass, a material often found on their phones, known for being very durable with minimal scratches. I've seen this design and build on many Motorola phones, and it works quite well. I have it in blue 🔵, and you can also get it in mint green and midnight blue, which has a nice matte effect and looks good without showing fingerprints. It has a very minimalist and clean design. Considering the price, I would say Motorola has done a great job. The camera bump is not too pronounced, and it looks cute and minimalist. Motorola usually provides a single speaker, but here, it has dual speakers that work well. On the left, you'll find the SIM tray with a hybrid slot, and there's an additional mic on top. The power button also doubles as a fast fingerprint scanner, and the haptics are excellent throughout the device. The phone even comes with an IP52 rating for some water resistance."2. Display
If we talk about the display, my friends, it's 6.5 inches, and I like that size. I mean, 6.7 inches is a bit larger, and 6.1 inches is a bit smaller. So, 6.5 inches is the ideal size. It's an ideal size for an FHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has 550 nits of brightness, and let me tell you, if you look at this display, it's a high-quality IPS LCD display. When it comes to brightness for indoor use, it's good enough. And yes, if we talk about the bezels, the ones on the sides, I'd say they are smaller than average. The chin, I'd say, has a 90% screen-to-body ratio. There's a center punch hole, and it looks decent. Remember, this phone is priced under Rs. 15,000, so it looks really good, and the display is impressive. And just to clarify, it's not AMOLED; it's a really good LCD display.
3. Performance & software
If I were to talk about the processor, it houses the Dimensity 7020, LPDDR4x RAM, and UFS 2.2 storage. Interestingly, this is the first phone in India, meaning the one that comes with this processor. It achieves an Antutu score of approximately 4,75,000.Have you heard of the Dimensity 930 processor? It's a tweaked version of that one. So, its performance is quite satisfactory. It comes with Android 13, and you'll get Android updates for a year, along with 3 years of security updates. I do wish it had 2 Android updates, and it's a Motorola phone with a clean UI.
But now, when it comes to their mid-range phones, they lean more towards being budget phones. You'll notice a couple of things, like the presence of games like Carrom, Candy Crush, and Brain Test that you can easily uninstall. However, Moto Secure is here to provide extra security. You can create dual apps, set passwords for specific applications, and enjoy Motorola's gestures. Yes, Moto Hub is extra, but you can uninstall it. So, if we talk about the overall experience, its processor is capable of handling all normal tasks.
Now, let's talk about low-light situations. The light control is good, and when it comes to the 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, it's not ideal for low-light but performs well in daylight photos. In low-light conditions, it may introduce some noise. You can shoot 1080p video, and the video quality at 1080p 30fps is good, especially for selfies."

4. Camera
"And if we talk about the camera department, here I have a main camera with 50 megapixels and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, as well as a macro and depth sensor. There's also a 16-megapixel selfie camera. When it comes to photo quality, I've taken multiple photos, and in my opinion, the photos look good in daylight. The details are also quite nice. In normal mode, when you click human photos, it slightly over-sharpens them, and in portrait mode, it adds a bit of beautification. Now, let's talk about low-light situations.
