Huawei p60 pro review : world's no 1 god level camera phone
I have something very interesting to show you. I was checking out DXO Mark, and according to them, the Huawei P60 Pro is the number one camera phone. But the story doesn't end there; the S23 Ultra is at number 15 and Xiaomi 13 Pro is at number 21, and they both take amazing portraits. This piqued my curiosity, and today, I am going to review the Huawei P60 Pro. I also want to see how it earned the top rank according to DXO Mark.
1. Design
I am introducing this phone exactly as it is. It has a marble finish, as you can see. Many of my friends and family have asked me about this finish, as it looks like I have put a skin on the phone. I know that when you see it, the back panel appears smooth, but it's just a pattern. Two crazy things I noticed about this phone: its earpiece is not visible to the naked eye; I could zoom in to show you how tiny it is.
However, despite its small size, the earpiece works perfectly, which is a remarkable engineering feat."
2. Display
And this phone, the Huawei P60 Pro, uses an OLED display, which is 6.67 inches in size and comes with only Full HD resolution.I'm saying it's an expensive phone, so it should have had Quad HD resolution, my friend. But in this phone, the glass protection used is called "Kunlun Glass," and Huawei claims that this glass is even stronger than Gorilla Victus 2 That's why they were demonstrating its strength by cracking walnuts with it.
3. software
and software experience of Huawei phones are quite different because they use EMUIinstead of the usual Android with Google apps. Due to political reasons, Huawei faced many restrictions from the USA, which led to various differences and challenges for the company. Privacy concerns are also a significant issue, and it's essential for any brand to take privacy seriously. One interesting feature in this phone is the "Sound Booster." If you place this phone anywhere in a room and it's connected to Bluetooth, you can hear conversations happening in that room through your earphones. This feature is indeed intriguing, and it highlights some unique capabilities of the phone.Behind all the controversies and challenges, Huawei is known for its outstanding engineering, especially in image processing and software capabilities. If the brand can operate ethically and uphold privacy standards, it has the potential to make a significant impact in the smartphone world.
4. Performance
Indeed, it's an interesting perspective. DXOMark is a reputable source for camera rankings, and when people see the photos taken by Huawei P60 Pro, they might naturally feel that it deserves the top spot. However, it's important not to rely solely on rankings and to consider personal preferences and needs as well.If you are excited about the Huawei P60 Pro and are thinking of importing it from Europe, it's essential to be aware that some versions of Huawei phones may not support 5G networks due to geopolitical reasons. In some regions, Huawei devices are limited to 4G capabilities. The phone you mentioned comes with the Snapdragon 8+Gen 1 processor, which might not be the latest, but it can still offer good performance.Ultimately, choosing a smartphone should be based on your specific requirements, including camera quality, performance, software features, and network compatibility. Make sure to research thoroughly and consider all aspects before making a decision.
6. Camera
The camera setup of the Huawei P60 Pro is undoubtedly fascinating, and I have already introduced the phone in an interesting category. It has gained fame mainly for its camera capabilities. Now, let me try to understand whether DXOMark rankings are sensible or not.The phone's camera setup consists of three lenses: 48MP + 13MP + 48MP. I have seen many phones with variable apertures, but the Huawei P60 Pro has implemented it best. In this phone, you have the option to select between f/1.4 and f/2.8 apertures, whereas other phones usually offer only two options, either f/1.4 or f/4. Huawei claims that the telephoto lens in this phone has an f/2.1 aperture, which can gather more light compared to other phones. When I clicked photos with this phone and saw the results, I was amazed by the powerful image processing capabilities. The HDR and shadow retention in the photos were impressive, and overall, the image processing was outstanding. This phone's ultra-wide lens allowed me to take macro photos with good results. Additionally, the "super macro" option was quite enjoyable.
Every time I clicked photos with this phone, I felt it was amazing, and I couldn't help but repeatedly mention it. Now, don't think that the Huawei P60 Pro has no flaws. Every phone has some shortcomings. While taking photos, I noticed occasional purple tints, which felt a bit weird. Sometimes, the phone's colors appeared too intense and oversaturated, creating a desaturated feel in the photos. The ultra-wide lens didn't give me the best impression, as it produced soft photos in daylight, and I am not sure about its performance in low-light conditions. It tends to blur quite often.
Considering all these aspects, if you deeply understand the camera's capabilities, you will notice some flaws. However, this phone received the number one ranking on DXOMark, and that's why I included this information. Otherwise, I usually don't rely on rankings alone when picking a phone.
