Look, let me first give you the context. This phone was initially detecting a pattern when it was first launched. Up until now, I've been conducting my tests on it. And I can say that, currently, it's one of the best phones under ₹20,000. I won't keep you in suspense; the name of this phone is the Poco X5 Pro 5G
Poco x5 pro 5g design
Let's talk design. Considering ₹18,000, I feel the design is excellent; the boxy frame and matte finish of the back panel have no complaints from me. What's more important to me is the comfort; I believe the phone is comfortable due to its low weight (weight > 181g). While using it for chatting and more, I don't have any specific complaints. What I find fun, especially for me, is the fingerprint display underneath. Normally, I use phones with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and when I keep the phone in my pocket, my hand naturally rests on the power button, automatically unlocking the phone. I don't have to wait, and I like this feature. Another thing, in February, I got this phone, and now it's January. I have a habit of keeping all my phones in a bag, and it's cool that this phone has only one minor dent at the bottom. Usually, when I keep phones together like this, they get a lot of scratches, but it seems this phone handles that well. The speakers are impressive, with dual speakers and Dolby Atmos support; they're excellent for watching content. Most brands under ₹20,000 don't offer dual speakers, so that's also something to appreciate. If I were to point out any flaw in this phone, it would be the haptics, but that's a minor concern in this price segment.
Poco x5 pro 5g display
Let's talk about the display - it's a 6.67-inch screen, obviously FHD+ with a 120Hz refresh rate. It's an Amoled panelbut I feel that the punch-hole camera and even the bezels are quite minimal, which fits well in this price segment. This aspect, I mean the phone supporting Dolby Vision, is a good thing in this price range. That's why I checked out the Arplatic series for testing, which specifically supports Dolby Vision, and it was great; talking about outdoor visibility, the output seemed okay to me with its 900 nits brightness - no complaints there.Poco x5 pro 5g battery
When I talk about the battery, it's a 5000mAh battery with 67W wired charging, and both these things are very good considering the price. But the way I use the phone, I get around 7 hours of screen on time which is good. When you look at the battery of any phone, there's always a debate about whether it has fast charging or a larger battery. And there's no doubt it's a good thing that the phone's capacity is higher, and the charging speed is also good. I wish the Poco X6 series also has the same featuresPoco x5 pro 5g specifications
And the biggest thing, friends, is its specifications. It comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor. Now, many phones in this price segment have come with the Dimensity 1080. Now, if you look at the Antutu score, it comes around 520,000 to 525,000. It has four A78 cores. Talking about the Dimensity 1080, it only has two cores. They are slightly overclocked at 2.6 GHz, but in this one, there are 2.4 and 2.2 GHz four A70 cores. On paper, it seems good for gaming. If you play on high to ultra-high settings, you can play at 60fps. I've tried gaming with COD Mobile and others, and it was butter smooth. This is due to the very good display. The speakers on this phone are loud and of excellent quality. Overall, multimedia, gaming, and speakers' sound quality are very good. It comes with UFS 2.2 storage type and LPDDR4x RAM type. This is the first phone from Xiaomi, which means Xiaomi, Redmi, or Poco – all fall under it. It comes with MIUI 14, which is very interestingPoco x5 pro 5g sensor's
When talking about sensors, all the sensors are present in it. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and also supports face unlock. Another good thing is that it has an IP53 rating certification, along with support for Widevine L1. Because of these, in the realm of multimedia, if you get the Poco X5 Pro 5G, your multimedia consumption will greatly improve. Its display is truly immersive, and the audio quality is really good.Poco x5 pro 5g camera
When I talk about the camera, it has a setup of 108MP + 8MP + 2MP cameras. Most of us know that below ₹20,000, ultrawide lenses are missing from many phones but in this one, there's an 8MP. A good thing is there's some consistency between the main camera and the ultrawide camera in terms of colors. Talking about the main camera, the HDR performance seems fine considering the price, but speaking of colors, there's a bit too much saturation. Usually, budget phones struggle to retain colors indoors, but this phone manages that well, which I liked. I do like the camera overall, but sometimes, there are issues. Occasionally, in portrait mode, the camera forgets to use HDR, and sometimes, the skin tone appears yellowish or orange, especially in low-light conditions. However, when you look at the photos taken in low-light, you can see the over-sharpness, but it manages to retain details like textures on the road. It also retains colors. Now, speaking about the front camera, it's 16MP and takes good selfies, but there's an over-sharpness issue. However, this is common in this price segment. And here's a fun fact: Did you know this phone can shoot in 4KConclusion
Now, let's sum up and understand exactly how this phone is behaving. Another thing, how is the Poco brand behaving? Look, one thing is super clear, at ₹18,000, this phone is a super fantastic deal for now, no doubt. But the main point is, do you know what it is? Because there was a bit of tension among people regarding trust issues with the Poco brand. But last year, I saw that Poco gave some phones a 2-year warranty. So, obviously, it develops a sense of security, and most importantly, for me, the software situation that was not getting updates on time, seeing updates on this phone, I can say that they've done a good job. Obviously, this helps in building trust. I want to seriously know your opinions, guys. And if you find any value in this article, do share it with your family and friends, it will benefit them too. Till then, bye guys.Related topics
