Honor 90 5g all features and review
After 3 years, Honor has finally launched their new phone. Yes, what happened three years ago, you know, so they are making a comeback with Honor. Today, we will review it in detail and genuinely discuss how this comeback phone from Honor is. If you like our blog, don't forget to revisit it and share it with your friends."
1. Honor Design
"This phone has a premium look and not just premium in appearance but also feels fantastic in hand, friends. It features both curved glass on the front and back. The frame is made of plastic and shines brightly, giving it an excellent feel in hand. It's slightly on the slippery side, but it feels great even for those with average-sized hands. It's not overly large and isn't heavy either; I believe it weighs around 190-193 grams. In terms of thickness, it's quite slim at 7.8mm. If you look at the camera modules and the beautiful ring on the side, it really looks very nice. Honor actually calls it the 'Moon Face' camera, and yes, it does resemble the moon."
2. Honor90 Display
If we talk about the display here, you must have seen phones with curved displays on the front, and this one also has a curved display, but it's curved not only on the sides but also at the top and bottom. The curvature on the sides is more pronounced, so you could say it's a quad-curve display, meaning it curves on all four sides. The display size is 6.7 inches with full HD+ resolution, and in the phone's settings, you get three options for adjusting the display resolution. This phone features an AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and supports 10-bit color and HDR10, making it great for watching content on Netflix with vibrant colors and excellent picture quality. They've also added 3840Hz TW dimming for eye comfort, which is quite impressive. In terms of brightness, it goes up to 1600 nits, but I noticed that when the auto-brightness sensor detects outdoor conditions, it takes a moment to reach full brightness. In fact, if I manually set it to full brightness and then switch to another application and come back, it returns to that lower brightness level. This could potentially be improved with a software update.
3. Honor90 Software
It sounds like the software on this phone is indeed quite refreshing. It features a new UI that gives the impression of something entirely fresh. This phone runs on Honor's MagicOS 7.1, which appears to be feature-loaded. I understand that there has been some confusion about whether Google apps are included, but it's based on Android 13, and it does support all Google apps. What's interesting is that this UI incorporates smooth animations throughout, enhancing the overall user experience. For example, closing recent apps or opening/closing apps features smooth animations. You mentioned the ability to adjust folder sizes and quick actions within the weather app, which adds a touch of fun and customization to the experience. It's also intriguing to hear that some aspects of this UI appear to be inspired by the iPhone. As for functionality, everything seems to be working well so far, but you're planning to wait for updates to assess the overall stability of this UI. It's always a good idea to see how software evolves with time.
4. Honor90 Performance
It's great to hear about the performance of this phone. It's equipped with the Snapdragon 7Gen1 Accelerated Edition, which means it has a slightly higher clock speed. It also features LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, which are impressive specifications. The Antutu score of 649,177
is a good indicator of its performance.
You mentioned that some might be confused about where this processor stands. It's important to note that it's not as powerful as the Snapdragon 7Gen2, which is indeed a more potent chipset. However, the Snapdragon 7Gen1 is a capable mid-range processor. It may not be considered a high-end performance processor like the Snapdragon 870, but it's well-suited for mid-range devices. It's reassuring that you haven't experienced any lag or hanging issues in the UI, and for gaming, it seems to handle casual gaming well. It's great that you can even play BGMI at 60fps in smooth mode and achieve 40fps in other settings. The gyroscope functionality is working fine too, which is important for a good gaming experience.

5. Honor90 Camera
Let me discuss the camera. We've taken some photos with it. First, let me share the specifications. The primary sensor is a 200MP Samsung HP3 sensor, and the secondary sensor is a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, with an additional 2MP sensor.
The primary sensor is the one responsible for taking the photos. In general, Honor and Huawei phones are known for their excellent camera quality. The Honor 90 continues this tradition and is perhaps one of the better cameras in the mid-range and premium mid-range segment. What surprised me the most is its low-light performance. Even without OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), it captures excellent photos in low-light conditions with vivid colors and minimal noise. My initial impressions of the rear camera are positive, but the selfie camera is even better. It has a 50MP sensor that excels in skin tones, colors, sharpness, and edge detection. Now, let's talk about videography. You can shoot in 4K with both the rear and front cameras at 30fps, making it suitable for vlogging. The selfie camera also boasts a wide field of view (FOV) of 100 degrees, ideal for group selfies. In terms of features, there are plenty of AI enhancements. It can detect scenes, suggesting portrait settings when capturing a person or adjusting settings for nature shots. The AI works smoothly. Moreover, there's a video editing feature called "solo cut" that allows you to edit a single person in the video after shooting. This editing feature is quite handy. Additionally, both photos and videos support HDR mode, which enhances dynamic range by reducing highlights and boosting shadows. So, as I mentioned, I'm quite impressed with the camera.
